At Annapolis Built-In Company, we specialize in designing and building fully custom built-ins tailored to your home and your lifestyle. From dream libraries and functional mudrooms to elegant pantries, organized closets, and entertainment centers, every project is crafted with the same attention to detail and quality of construction. We also design and install Murphy beds and Murphy systems that seamlessly blend form and function, giving you beautiful, space-saving solutions that feel anything but ordinary.

How do we get started?

Before we meet, I encourage every potential client to spend some time on Pinterest or similar sites to build a collection of images that resonate with their aesthetic and practical sensibilities. We then meet at your home, where I can see the space firsthand, take measurements, and identify any potential challenges.
For simpler projects, we'll often sketch something out on the spot. For more complex ideas, I'll walk you through the possibilities, discuss the realities of the space alongside your vision, and give us both about a week to develop some designs. That week is a collaboration — you and I go back and forth until we've landed on something that checks every box.
We then schedule a final meeting to lock in the design. From there, I put together a detailed quote, and if everything looks good, I send over a contract with a 30% deposit due at signing. Once that's in place, we set a start date and get to work.
Do you make Murphy Beds?
What materials do you use?

Our standard material for painted built-ins is 3/4" finished birch plywood, trimmed out with 3/4" primed finger-jointed pine. This combination delivers a clean, durable finish that holds paint beautifully and stands the test of time.
If you prefer a natural wood look, we also work with a variety of hardwoods that can be sealed or stained to bring out the character of the grain. Whether you're drawn to a crisp painted finish or the warmth of natural wood, we'll help you choose the material that best suits your budget, space and style.

What forms of payment do you take?
Painting is not included in our builds, but we make it easy. We refer all of our clients to our preferred painter, Paint Life, who you book directly — cutting out the middleman and saving you money. You're always welcome to use the painter of your choice, but it's worth noting that the finished work you see in our portfolio was painted by Paint Life, and results may vary with a different painter.
Yes! We custom build Murphy beds and Murphy systems that far exceed the quality of anything you'll find online or at a big box store. Every Murphy bed we build is designed specifically for your space, your style, and your needs — delivered with the same craftsmanship and attention to detail that goes into every ABC project.
